How to add utility to your NFT collection?
The problem with currents NFTs roadmaps and how to improve yours.
In the last few months, we've seen a huge advance in the use of blockchain-related technologies. Perhaps the most notable of these is the Non-fungible token (NFT). Using everything from animals to object figures, artists now can create a community and challenge the way humans interact with this technology.
But with so many collections popping up, what will the future of NFTs look like? Will we always be stuck with roadmaps with no real utility? I hope not, and I am willing to show you what other ways NFTs can be useful.
But first, let’s discuss about the current NFTs roadmaps.
The problem with current NFTs roadmaps
After launching my own project, I received messages from various collections asking for help. For the most part, they ask for help in marketing and making their sales explode. For a moment, I believed this would be possible. “Well, if I can sold out mine, why couldn't I do it with theirs only promoting them?”, I thought.
Wrong bet.
There's one thing you learn in marketing and sales: a sale is both logical and emotional.
You can't use only logical or only emotional appeal. If you take away the emotional part, your product turns out to be boring. If you take away the logical part, you're just another charlatan.
The problem with current collections roadmaps is that they only focus on the obvious: build a Discord Server community, donate x% of sales to some charity, airdrops, and… AH! Create a DAO. That's it, nothing more.
Adding utility to your NFT collection
Now, knowing that those obvious things are not so useful, how could you add utility to your collection?
Simple answer: returning something useful to your buyers.
And no, airdrops aren't useful if they are another NFT that nobody knows how much value contains in it.
I'm talking about returning a real value. For example, some collections are returning a % of profits from their product to the holders. You may have seen this practice somewhere. Where exactly? YES, on the stock exchange! Companies pay dividends to holders.
So, my recommendation is: look at something from the real world and see how you could fit it into the NFT universe. Another tip: look where you can deliver real-world value using NFTs, so your holders can enjoy it.
